Miyeko Ogaki

Miyeko “Mae” Ogaki (nee Nagano) was born in Duncan, British Columbia, in the late 1920s. In 1942, she was forcibly displaced to Hastings Park and interned at Bay Farm (and later Slocan) with her family. After the end of World War II, she was relocated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, and then moved to Farnham, Quebec, with her father, Rikimatsu Nagano, and three younger siblings Toshiyuki (Tosh), Tomio (Tom) and Suyeko (Sue). Mae and her family lived in the barracks at the Farnham Hostel for about 6 months, before moving to Port Stanley, Ontario. Mae later married Tame Buzz Ogaki, with whom she has a daughter, Janet Ogaki Sakuye.
